Multi-Aircraft Hangar 3001 Tinker AFB, Oklahoma Poole Fire Protection provided the design for the Wet Pipe Sprinkler System and the Fire Alarm/Mass Notification System for the 164,443 square foot Multi-Aircraft Hanger facility. This new facility will perform programmed depot maintenance for a variety of aircraft. The hangar includes open and private offices, administration areas, break room, latrine/shower areas, open bay work area, technical order library, and building utility rooms. This design included fire resistive construction, flame-spread and smoke-development, means of egress, special hazard protection, automatic sprinkler and fire suppression systems, water supplies for fire protection, fire alarm and detections systems, and connection to a class A monitoring service. The mandatory design criteria were those POOLE FIRE PROTECTION Statement of Qualifications 16 contained UFC 3-600-01 Design: Fire Protection Engineering of Facilities and ETL 02-15 Fire Protection Engineering Criteria, New Aircraft Facilities. The scope of work performed included develop fire protection system design documents, review shop drawings, calculations and material submittals, perform periodic site visits, develop testing procedures and testing plan, witness fire protection system acceptance testing, submit test reports and review as-built drawings. Fire modeling services were also performed for the sprinkler system. Approximate professional services fees were $116,000. This contract was worth $43 million for the 76th Aircraft Maintenance Group Multi-Aircraft Hangar at Tinker Air Force Base near Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Projects Gallery:
