Poole Fire Protection Presents
Free Day of Fire Protection Education

Poole Fire Protection held an educational seminar entitled "Fire Protection Education Day for Fire and Building Officials" on September 19, 2013. Fire and building officials from across the state of Kansas, and even some from Missouri, came to attend presentations on "Major Changes in Emergency Communication and Mass Notification", "Firestopping Inspection Hot Topics", and "Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems." The presentations were lead by Poole Fire Protection employees Brad Austin, Eric Reed, and Kevin Boyer, with employee James Surber coordinating and hosting the event. The training seminar provided a diverse amount of information that was well received by the audience with the help from our friends at Gamewell FCI, System Sensor, Barrier Technologies, and 3M. The audience varied in experience from those in their first year to those with 35+ years experience. All audience members said they would attend presentations like this one in the future and would recommend this presentation to an associate. Poole Fire Protection is proud to be able to give back some of our time and experience to help provide free education on fire protection and life safety to our Fire and Building Officials.

Photos From The Event: Brad Austin, PE (Poole Fire Protection) kicked off the day with a presentation about Mass Notification, supported by guest presenters, Antonio Torres (Gamewell FCI) and Dave Myers (System Sensor).   Nothing but good ole KC BBQ would have done for this hearty crowd of fire and building officials.The lunch break made for a great opportunity to network among fire protection professionals in the industry. Everyone's had a chance to eat and get acquainted, and is settling back in for the afternoon sessions.   Eric Reed, PE (Poole Fire Protection) led the post-lunch session with a presentation about Firestopping Inspection, supported by guest presenter, Kirk Kaiser (Barrier Techologies). During breaks, people were invited to tour the PFP office halls, getting to know the team members and reading the many stories, ceritifcates, awards, photos and media mentions they've earned over the years.   Kevin Boyer, PE (Poole Fire Protection) closed the day with a presentation about Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems, supported by guest presenter, David Olds (3M).
