Will Rogers World Airport Maintenance Hangar

The new Aircraft Maintenance Hangar and Training and standardization Complex for the US Customs and Border Protection, US Department of Homeland Security will be constructed at the Will Rogers World Airport, Oklahoma City, OK. The 98,300 square foot complex will provide space to support aircraft maintenance functions for the fleet of aircraft assigned to the Oklahoma City branch of the US Customs Service. It will also provide support for their training and standardization mission.
The complex includes a 49,000 square foot maintenance hangar with a clear span high bay hangar capable of accommodating 12 aircraft, a 20,000 square foot maintenance shop, offices and aquatics training, 28,000 square feet of administrative space for training and standardization and another 4,995 square feet for weapons training, firing range and equipment storage. Construction costs are estimated at $19.9 million.
Poole Fire Protection designed the fire alarm, automatic sprinkler and high expansion foam systems, and provided code-consulting services for the complex. The firm worked with design-build team members to develop a cost effective design for the systems to protect the facility. Poole Fire Protection worked with the pre-selected fire protection contractors to select system components to minimize construction costs. Designs were completed in compliance with NFPA 101 and NFPA 80.
